Hi there, my name is David. My foremost passions in life are music, followed by food, cooking, and languages. I play the piano, guitar, accordion, bağlama (a Turkish instrument), bass guitar, and some drums.
Ever since I was a child, I was fortunate enough to have the ability to hear a melody, remember it, and be able to play it back. I love performing for people and sharing the joy of music with songs from different genres and from all around the world. I also love teaching people to play an instrument, as it brings joy and relaxation.
I speak English, French, Spanish and Turkish. I enjoy learning languages and meeting new people from different cultures.
David’s biggest passion has always been to create and play music that moves people and to teach others to do the same. Trained classically on the piano from age 7, David began to expand his repertoire to jazz, pop, rock and bossa nova in high school. Throughout university and beyond, David loved exploring music from other cultures, such as klezmer, salsa, Turkish folk, and French chanson.
David holds a Bachelor of Education with a specialization in Music and is a member of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) with experience teaching in the Peel District School Board.
David’s idols on the piano are Oscar Peterson, Frederic Chopin, and Franz Liszt.
David’s idols on the guitar are David Broza, Antonio Jobim, and Christian DeBellis.
